ACI Awarded New Five-Year Contract to Provide Transportation Services to Valley Metro Rail in Arizona
ACI has managed light rail system in Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa since 2008.
(Boston, MA) – ACI, one of the largest privately-held providers of contracted passenger rail services in the United States, today announced that the Valley Metro Rail Board of Directors in Arizona approved a five-year contract, with one three-year and one two-year options to extend, for the provision of rail transportation services for a 26-mile light rail system.
With the new pact, ACI will continue to oversee train service operations for Valley Metro Rail in Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. ACI began providing operations services prior to the opening of Valley Metro Rail in December 2008. Today, ACI oversees a light rail system that operates 365 days per year and in the most recent fiscal year, delivered 15.6 million trips for customers with an on-time performance of 93.4 percent.
